The SCHS varsity volleyball team won its 5th consecutive Patriot Invitational tournament on Saturday. The tournament was hosted by School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO.

The Lady Irish started off the busy Saturday in pool play defeating Chadwick in straight sets. The second match of pool play resulted in a two-set victory over Galena. The final match of pool play resulted in split games between the Irish and Bergman.

The pool play record placed the Irish at the top of the bracket and matched them against SOMO Rush. The Lady Irish beat Rush in three sets,  25-15, 12-25, and 25-20. The bracket victory advanced the Irish to a championship match against the Lady Owls of Spokane. The two teams each split the first two games by a score of 25-15 and the Lady Irish won the third and final game 25-19. 

This was the first tournament of the year for the Lady Irish and brought the team to a 6-3-1 record. The Lady Irish will continue play on Tuesday the 5th against Central.
