Lady Irish Golf Earn MSU Relay Championship
The Springfield Catholic Lady Irish Golf team has a legacy of impressive golfers. Their current crew, anchored by senior Grace Tiedemann, will be another for the records books.
The Lady Irish smoked the competition with a collective score of 299 to win the Missouri State University Relays on September 4th, 2025 at Payne Stewart golf course in Springfield, MO. Glendale finished second on a score of 349, with Central placing thrid on a final tally of 402.
Senior Grace Tiedemann fires at 66 five under and won by one strip with a burning on 18. Junior Ava Tiedemann finished with a 76. Sarah Hann had a phenomenal round to finish at 77. Olivia Tiedemann (80)and Brinley Scott played solid with an 86.
The Lady Irish team of Grace Tiedemann, Ava Tiedemann, Sarah Hann, Olivia Tiedemann and Brinley Scott are only the 11th team in the history of Missouri women's high school golf to break 300. The other 10 places are held by Springfield Catholic Squads from 2018-2021.
The Lady Irish golf team is coached by Frank Gallant. Gallant was named the 2021-220 Missouri Girls Golf Coach of the Year as well as the 2021-2022 Sectional Girls Golf Coach of the Year. That same year he was named the National Federation of High School Girls Golf Coach of the Year.
As a golf coach, Gallant's players have earned: 18 Overall Conference Titles, 17 District Titles, 8 State Final 4's including 3 State Championships, 3 Runners-Up and 2 3rd Place finishes. Additionally, Gallant has coached 5 Individual State Champions (4 Girls and 1 Boy) and had over 40 All-State Golfers (Girls and Boys).
