MARSHFIELD, MO — The Fighting Irish traveled to Marshfield for their first road game of the year Friday night on what turned out to be a beautiful fall evening. The Irish were the heavy favorites, but the Blue Jays were not going to roll over. The Jays came out quick and garnered a 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Irish finally knuckled down though, as Lincoln Jones picked off a Marshfield pass and returned it for 6. This touchdown tied the game at 7; a score that would hold through halftime. The Irish came out motivated in the third as they took the lead 14-7 on a Tyson Riley rushing score. Riley would score again in the fourth to make it 20-7. Peyton James crushed any hopes of Marshfield getting on the board again with an interception late in the 4th.
The Irish travel to Fair Grove Friday night looking for revenge from last year's last minute loss.
