On September 22, the Varsity girls' tennis team closed out a highly successful regular season with a dominating performance in the Thomas Jefferson tournament, as all six players won gold medals by finishing first in their respective divisions: Anna Rader and Casey Lee in singles; and the doubles teams represented by Erin Jarvis-Cecilia Bailey and Claire Griesemer-Ashley Andrews.
For the regular season, the Varsity finished 14-1 in dual meets. In addition to winning the Thomas Jefferson tourney, the Girls also won the COC small conference tournament by winning 26 of the 27 matches played, took first place in the 8-team Republic tournament, and also won the highly competitive Springfield Invitational, beating out 11 other teams for the championship.

With their successful run through the regular season behind them, coaches Martin VerSteeg and Emily Ensell now look ahead to the post-season, with the ultimate goal of making the Final Four for the second year in a row. After winning the District doubles title with wins over Bolivar and Helias Catholic, the singles will compete this Saturday for a chance to move on to the sectionals on October 7.
